Welcome to Alberta!
It is a great time to explore Alberta and all we have to offer. This year marks the centennial of Jasper National Park, Canada's largest mountain national park. One hundred events are planned to keep the celebration going throughout the year. Whether you are looking for excitement at the Jasper Heritage Rodeo, great food at the Centennial Pancake Breakfast, or seeking inspiration from Artists in the Pines – Jasper has a holiday experience for everyone.
2007 also marks the 75th anniversary of provincial parks in Alberta. Our province has a park or recreation area within an hour's drive of every Albertan, with 69 parks and over 250 recreation spaces. Countless events are planned across the province, including Parks Day on July 21.
Special events are a great reason to visit Alberta, but our province is filled with opportunities for adventure each and every day. We have majestic mountains, sweeping prairie fields, prehistoric badlands and vibrant cities. We are home to five of Canada's 13 United Nation's UNESCO World Heritage Sites – more than any other province in the country. We have world-renowned cultural festivals, sporting events and shopping centres. Combine our attractions with our signature western hospitality and you have a destination everyone can be excited about.
Travel Alberta is always here to help you plan the perfect getaway. Speak with a Travel Alberta specialist at 1-800-ALBERTA, visit TravelAlberta.com, or stop in at one of our Visitor Information Centres around the province.
On behalf of the Government of Alberta, I wish you a trip full of memories. Hope to see you again soon.
