KEEN A86 TR Trail Running Shoe Review by Jen Lowery

This lightweight shoe is extremely versatile. Not only a great minimalist shoe on the trails, it’s comfortable for both walking – on and off the trails – and wearing as a casual every day shoe. With a unique lacing system, the A86 ensures a perfectly snug fit on the foot. The treads offer a confident grip on dry trails but can be slippery on wet or snowy terrain.

The mesh upper shoe provides great breathability, but be prepared for wet socks and feet on anything but completely dry trails. The advantageous cool mesh in the summer can quickly result in chilly feet during the winter months.

The tradeoff for the lightweight and minimalist advantage is the durability. Daily trail running will wear the side mesh material out in less than two months, but for more recreational runners, these shoes should last much longer.

With a variety of great colours available, these shoes are fantastic for anyone wanting to try a new minimalist shoe that looks good on and off the trails.
