Laurie Skreslet 
On October 5th, 1982, Laurie Skreslet became the first Canadian to reach the top of Mount Everest. Laurie is a professional public speaker, the author of a best-selling book and has 35 years of climbing, coaching and leadership experience. Laurie has written a feature story for the 2006 edition of Experience the Mountain Parks. You’ll find Yamnuska on Page 8. In addition, Skreslet is contributing his services within our Reader Contest. Laurie will guide our Grand Prize Winner on a 2-day adventure trek in the Canadian Rockies!

Michael Kerr 
Michael Kerr is a professional speaker. He draws upon his experiences as a former park naturalist when he speaks and in authoring five books. Michael has written three stories for the 2006 edition of Experience the Mountain Parks. You’ll find Minding Your Manners on Page 6, Any Questions? on Page 11 and Feeling Sheepish on Page 26/27.

Carol Patterson is a well-known nature tourism consultant and the author of four books. She writes & distributes an online newsletter quarterly. Zale Zeviar
Zale Zeviar is a Master Teacher and Founder of the Initiate School of the Canadian Rocky Mountains Ltd. As an adult school of Consciousness and Enlightenment, the Initiate School provides a non-denominational, non-religious venue where people from all walks of life attend classes and study evolution. Andrew Kyle
Andrew Kyle is an adventurer, entrepreneur, and venture capitalist. When not working he likes to be with family and friends at Mount Engadine Lodge in the Spray Valley. Kim Fraser
Kim Fraser and her husband Steve Fear own and operate an authentic, historic Rocky Mountain retreat called Storm Mountain Lodge which is located mid-way between the town sites of Banff and Lake Louise. Dave Birrell

Dave Birrell is an author,
teacher, outdoor landscape photographer and professional interpretive
guide within the Canadian Rockies. He has created a free online
catalogue of over 1,500 Canadian Rockies mountain peaks –
complete with 3-D visualization via Google Earth. Over the past
three years, Dave has developed the content for a self-guided GPS
audio tour system that helps park visitors interpret the natural
& human history in much of the mountain parks. Dave has provided
our readers with the complete picture about GPS touring within the
2006 edition of Experience the Mountain Parks. You’ll find
GPS – Audio Tour of the Canadian Rockies on Page 6.

Dave Verhulst
Dave Verhulst is the Executive Director of the Mountain Parks Heritage Interpretation Association (MPHIA). He holds a Master’s degree in Recreation Management from Acadia University, has worked as an interpreter for Parks Canada in Banff National Park and for Alberta Parks in Dinosaur Provincial Park. He has also worked as an interpretive guide for several local companies operating in the Banff area, as a canoe guide in Jasper and Ontario and as a Nordic Ski Instructor (CANSI accredited) for the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. With over a decade of experience in the guiding industry and as an accredited Professional Interpreter through MPHIA, Dave is well aware of the important role high-quality guiding plays in the experiences of many park visitors. He is committed to helping new guides and visitors have outstanding experiences in the Rockies that draw them deeper into themselves and into the landscape.
